Nearly 30 years and growing!

About 1

A local leader in construction and debris recycling

Handling waste generated by new construction, renovations, and demolition; Halifax C&D meets a diversion rate of 75% from landfills in Halifax. Specifically, we recycle and remanufacture post-consumer waste into alternative products which are then marketed for various uses. These include animal bedding, shingle-sand aggregate, shingle-flake/plastic mix for alternative fuel, septic sand, as well as other products.

Halifax C&D delivers recycling solutions for private landowners, contractors, developers, and municipalities to efficiently and environmentally deal with their waste in various forms. We provide grinding services for government, businesses and the forestry industry in the Atlantic Provinces.

Multiple sites to serve our communities

In 2000, Halifax C&D opened a second location in Westphal to collect and manage the C&D waste that is generated in Dartmouth.

In addition to our two C&D recycling centres, we opened the only licensed C&D landfill in Halifax in 2003.

Halifax C&D also proudly operates a tire recycling facility as part of DivertNS’s “Used Passenger Tires” program.
